Core Oxidised Silver

मुसाफ़िर. Traveller. Wear the word, skip the sermon. A spoked wheel up top, the word hanging off a bar below, cut clean in oxidised brass so...

A smooth dome, a ring of beadwork around it, three tiny ghungroo swinging underneath. That's it. No story, no occasion, no reason needed. The kind of...

A crescent, a peacock's head at one end, a fan of petals at the other. Bells at the bottom, because of course. Chandrika means moonlit. It's...

A long-tailed bird per ear, with a cluster of ghungroo hanging where the tail sweeps down. Chidiya. Small, common, completely unbothered: the bird nobody photographs and...

A stag with full antlers, its body and legs speckled all over with tiny dark crystals. Nobody else is wearing deer. That's most of the point....

The peacock everyone does. The tail nobody does, coiled into a spiral instead of fanned out. Same bird, better idea. It reads as a paisley from...

A goddess with her eyes closed, a lotus bud rising from her crown, tiny earrings at each side. The face is cast with real detail: the...

Shiva's damru, shrunk down and parked on your finger. The drum sits high off the band and the ghungroo hang off both ends. They actually move,...

An open lotus, petals fanned wide, ghungroo strung underneath. Kamal is the most-used motif in Indian jewellery, which means most versions of it are boring. This...

Ring inside ring inside ring, with a raised square and a single ball sitting at the centre of it. Studs are usually the boring option. These...

Six petals, six different stones (yellow, pale blue, black, pink, purple and deep magenta) set in oxidised brass, with a silver ball at the centre and...

महाकाल, cut as openwork script, with a trishul standing up behind the word. No stones, no bells, no softening. Just the word and the weight of...

Two goddess faces, eyes closed, a single bell hanging from each chin. The detail is the point: the crown, the tilt of the head, the calm...

A small perched bird, wing engraved in fine hatched lines, tail fanned out behind it. Chanchal means restless. Fitting, for something built to look like it's...

An open lotus in full bloom, and a closed bud tucked at the other end of the band. Both stages of the flower on one ring....

Petals layered over petals, each one edged in tiny beads, a raised centre holding it together. Big for a stud. It covers the lobe properly instead...

A small flower with a deep purple stone at its centre. That's all it needs to be. For pierced noses. Sits flat, stays put, doesn't catch...

An open lotus, shrunk down to nose-pin scale, with every pointed petal still readable. For pierced noses. Small enough for work, sharp enough for everything after....

Five petals around a plain silver bead. No stone, no fuss, no piercing required. Clips on and off, so you can try the whole nose-pin thing...

A morni on your nose. No piercing, no commitment. Clips on, stays put, comes off when you're done. The peacock is cut small and properly detailed....

A peacock, cut small, tail and crest intact. For pierced noses. The detail survives the shrinking, which is the hard part and the reason to pick...

A round disc, a plain domed centre, and a ring of raised beads around the rim that reads as petals from any normal distance. The most...

A teardrop, beaded around the edge, one red stone sitting in it. Clip-on. The red does the work: against oxidised silver it reads much louder than...

A paan leaf with two peacocks facing each other inside it, and a row of drops along the bottom edge: white pearls alternating with small oxidised...
